An Integrative Approach to Total Body Wellness
My name is Rachel and I am a 42 year-old athletic woman. I have been a runner most of my life, in 2009 I began to train for a triathalon. On June 13,2009, while cycling I was forced off the road by a driver who was not paying attention. I saw the car and tried my best to swerve out of the way but I could not get back on to the road. Thank G-d the car missed me but I smashed into some trees. This was a near death experience that came with great physical and emotional problems. At the time of the accident, My shoulder came out of the socket, I experienced whip lash and I had immediate shooting pain down my arm and my neck.
I was rushed to the hospital. I went to many specialists throughout the year. I tore my labrum, and severely herniated discs in my neck. I continued to experience numbness, shooting pain, wrist pain and my whole body was out of whack. I often felt my head was jammed into my neck and my range of motion was very limited. I wanted to be able to work out and run again! My prognosis did not look good as the Orthopedic surgeon and the Neurosurgeon recommended surgery. However, after hearing the negative possible results of surgery; I wanted another option. Then, I spoke with a friend who said, “You should go to this Neuromuscular Therapist that I see. He is amazing.” I asked his name and she said, “Bill Neckman”. I chuckled when I heard his name. How perfect…The Neck Man. I said to myself that’s what I need. I need a Neck Man!
Well, Bill Neckman lives up to his name! It’s as if he was named to this kind of work. He is a healer and knows how to relieve the pain and spasms associated with my neck, shoulder and spine injury. He is very knowledgeable in the area of trigger points and understands what needs to be done to relieve pain and discomfort. Thanks to Bill, I am now able to bike and run again. Occasionally, I have areas such as very tight calf muscles, jaw pain, hip and lower back that lockdown but after Bill works on me I find great relief! Sometimes my body gets out of alignment, twisted so tight and somehow Mr. Neckman manages to put everything back in its place. This treatment is unlike any other that I have experienced. I know this type of therapy is so healthy for my body, healing my injuries first but just as important I find that with regular treatments I experience long periods of pain free movement, greatly improved range of motion, calmer nerves and a general sense of well being. Bill is a pleasure to be around. He is compassionate, and an expert in Neuruomuscular healing. One of the bonuses of Bill Neckman is his sense of humor. I enjoy going to see him on many levels. Bill has made a huge difference in my life!
