An Integrative Approach to Total Body Wellness

swe-thai massage therapyWhat is swe-thai massage therapy and what are the benefits?

Swe-thai massage therapy is a wonderful combination therapy for stress relief and relaxation, blending the relaxing strokes of Swedish massage with the stretching techniques of traditional Thai massage. Although the entire body is massaged, this treatment is superb for neck and back pain, areas where most people carry stress and are often primary areas of concern.

What to expect

The swed-thai massage therapy session will usually require 80-minutes for the treatment itself. You will disrobe and lie face down on the table with linens to cover you. Oil or lotion will be used and much of the time will be spent on your back and neck areas. At times, your therapist may get up on the table and position themselves above you, using their arms and legs to manipulate your muscles. This positioning adds to the level of power they are able deliver to provide deeper impact and more accurate stretching.

Your massage therapist will talk to you regarding the amount of pressure being used and your comfort level - be sure to let them know if the pressure or stretch is too much.

The swe-thai massage session will relieve stress and anxiety, leaving your back and neck free of tension you may not have even realized you had.

After the massage be sure to drink plenty of water; this will aid in flushing toxins from your system that were released during the massage. Avoid alcoholic beverages and other toxins that have the tendency to rush through your bloodstream and back into your muscles.
